Healing

Seeing the grandchildren has been a wonderful healing experience for PopPop. He isn't used to being down and not doing the things he likes to do. Since the last trip to the ER, he is a little more accepting of the fact that he needs to take it easy. He loves it when Chloe and Cali come to visit him during the day to "check on him." Chloe loves to rub his head and feet and make him cookies. She always save the biggest cookie for PopPop. Cali give smiles and kisses. Camryn just likes to be held and PopPop loves doing that. Most times he holds her too long and I have to say "OK, it's Mams turn now!" I don't share very well when it comes to my "Treasures."

Jellybean

Really, there isn't anything that I dislike about my Jellybean, Cali. She is such a good baby girl and is so pleasant. She just melts my heart. That sweet smile could get her almost anything she wants, ALMOST! I keep her every day, so there are rules in affect. She is starting to love looking at books and we are working on the animal sounds. I think she knows them but doesn't want to say them. When Chloe and I do "projects" Cali is right there wanting to do them also.

She loves shoes and needs to try on several pair every day, even mine. The one thing she doesn't like is to have something in her hair. I love the barrettes from Gymboree, but Cali keeps ripping them out of her hair.

She loves her baby dolls and sways with them while saying "shsh." I think she likes big sister Chloe's bedroom better than her own. Tearing up sisters room is so much fun. She also adores her big brothers Cole and Carter. Everyone calls her Cali-Cakes, but she is just my JELLYBEAN!! One thing I know for sure, she is a TREASURE.

Recently my aunt and uncle finally got to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary with our family. It was originally scheduled for June, but my Uncle Joe had emergency heart surgery. They were scheduled to leave for a trip to Italy after their party. Everything had to be put on hold, but we are so thankful that Uncle Joe has recovered. It made the party extra special and we had such a good time. Here's to many more anniversaries!!

Here are a few more photos from Mandi's wedding. Carl forgot my good camera, so I didn't get many pics at all. We had a good time at the reception. It's nice to be with family when celebrating. Troy and Bethany didn't make it because Camryn was only 3 days old. My Aunt Judy and Uncle Joe were married 50 years on this day, so Mandi was kind enough to have a special dance in their honor. The wedding and reception were just beautiful. Shelley did a great job in planning everything.

California and the Dodgers

Carl was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May. One thing he has always wanted to do is to go to California and see a Dodgers game. He has been a Dodgers fan since he was a little boy. I was on the internet hunting for a flight to send him to a game. The phone rang and it was my niece, Jodi, asking what I was up to. I told her I was hunting for a cheap flight to LA. She said that she and her husband, Tim, were going to send us both to California for a few days! We were so surprised. They knew it was a dream of Carl's and they wanted to fulfill that dream. Tim's only request was that Carl put his feet in the Pacific Ocean, which we both did.

They will never know how much that trip meant to us. We have never done anyting like that before.(just the 2 of us) Carl had such a great time. He went to 2 games and also went on a tour of the stadium. I sat in the stands and watched him as he was in the Dodger Dugout and talking to the guide. His mouth was going and so were his hands. I don't think I've ever seen him so excited to be somewhere. Thanks Tim and Jodi. We love you and your family and hope to someday repay you in anyway that we can.

Our newest granddaughter, Camryn May, is such a happy baby. She smiles and babbles most of the time. The worst part of her day is in the evening when she is getting very tired. Other than that, I think she is just perfect. They brought her to the hospital to see me the day I had my knee replacement. It was the best medicine ever!! She is just precious and I love to hold her and give her kisses. When she smiles at me, it melts my heart.
