She loves money.

"For you see, each day I love you more.  Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow."

Camryn was playing with her little purse and it's contents.  Bethany is wondering if this is an example of what is to come.  She threw the lipstick, wasn't really sure about the bracelet, but LOVED the money!

Surprise Continued

At the end of the party, she stood up and thanked everyone for coming.  She told everyone how lucky she felt to have such a wonderful family and good friends.  She surprised all of by doing this, but since she was recently diagnosed with Alzheimers, I think she has things to say and wants to let people know before the dimentia gets too bad. I took a picture of her with  the granddaughters.  We really missed Jodi and Emily not being there, but they had tickets to a hockey game in Philadelphia. Mom has 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with 2 on the way.

Surprise

"Everyone is the age of their heart."

We had a belated surprise birthday party for my Mom on Saturday.  Mandi invited her to lunch as an excuse to get her there.  She was very surprised, as you can tell by her face when she came in the door.  We just had some family and a few of her good friends.

Memories

"The two offices of memory are collection and distribution."

Ty was always Jake's #1 fan when he was growing up.  He went along to all the soccer games and wrestling matches.  Everyone at Messiah College thought he was our 4th son.  It is so nice for me to see that Jake is there to support Ty, not only at matches, but opening up his home to him for meals and relaxation.

The Fans

"What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories."

The kids could hardly wait to give Ty hugs and kisses.  He has always been such a role model for them and always gives them his time.  Of course, I could hardly wait to give him hugs and kisses myself!!  I'm ready for the match on Saturday at Virginia and the ones on Sunday at George Mason.

Maryland Continued

Maryland

"Positive anything is better than negative thinking." Once again, Ty had a whole army of fans behind him.  Everyone was so proud of him as he went onto the mat against Maryland's wrestler, 21-0, ranked 15th in the nation. He's been taking some beatings, but he IS going to get there! Love you TY.

Sauer x 1

"Nobody has ever measured, even poets, how much a heart can hold."

Sauer x 2

"If I had a single flower for every time I think about you, I could walk forever in my garden."

Sauer x 4

"Love means nothing in tennis, but it's everything in life."

Pap

"A Grandfather is someone with silver in his hair and gold in his heart."

When we went to visit Grandma for her birthday, the girls also had to have their picture taken with Pap.  He really spoils them and they know he buys them potato chips.  Cali always says "Chips, Pap?"

Playing on Wednesday

"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

I love playing with these two.  They are just hilarious!  The hard part is going home at the end of the day.

Tuesday Lovin'

"What I need to live has been given to me by the earth.  Why I need to live has been given to me by you."

Tuesday evening I stayed with Troy , Bethany and Camryn.  I could hardly wait to get there.  Camryn was still taking her nap, but it wasn't long until she got up.  She just made my day.  She smiles and giggles, but boy does she have a serious side!  Just let her see the camera and she is all business.

Mams Grapplers

"Success isn't a result of spontaneous combustion.  You must set yourself on fire."
Sunday was the first time I saw Cole and Carter wrestle this year.  I missed half of Carter's match, but got to see all of Cole's. It's such a tough sport, especially for young kids, those takedowns, bars and headlocks hurt! Ty sets such a good example for them and they just keep comin' back for more.

Great Grandma

"Grandmothers are just antique little girls."

January 15th was my mother's birthday.  The girls and I took her a cake to celebrate.  She was so surprised.  Chloe said "I know that who's ever birthday it is, they get the first piece of cake." I agreed with her, but guess who got the first piece of cake (with a big icing flower on top)?!!  It wasn't Grandma.

Dog

"Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in the muscles."

We had a great time at George Mason on Saturday watching Ty wrestle.  He did such a good job and we are so proud of him.  Jake told me "no screaming" during the match.  I did really good until he threw the kid on his back, I let loose then! It felt so good to scream.  Yeah Ty-Dog!!!!

No Mittens!

"Children look at the world with their perfect little hearts."

Cali always takes off her mittens and throws them, but she always says she is "fweezing". (freezing)

Ni Hao

"Little girls have a magic all of their own."

PopPop's Lap

"Few things are more delightful than grandchildren fighting over your lap." Doug Larson

My Sick Baby

"A baby is a bit of star dust blown from the hand of God."
Our precious Camryn got sick over the weekend. It's a bad cold/cough that just needs to run it's course. She hasn't been sleeping well because of her cough. She is usually such a good sleeper and a happy baby.  They said that she didn't even smile on Sunday.  We just had to go see her and take a "get well" present for her.  She really liked it and she even smiled a few times. We were only there for 45 minutes, but it was worth the 2 hours on the road. She needed her Mam to hold her! (or maybe Mam needed to hold Camryn)

Long Island, NY

"The only rock I know that stays steady, the only institution I know that works is the family."  Lee Iacocca
Last weekend we went to Long Island, NY to spend the weekend with my niece Jodi, her husband Tim and their kids.  It was FREEZING COLD, but we had a great time with everyone.  We went to see Mason play his indoor soccer game and Carl had a good time playing Apples to Apples with Jonathan, Luke, and Mason.  Alex had a birthday party on Sunday, so we didn't get to spend as much time with him.  I even enjoyed myself at the Mall and I don't like shopping.  Emily was getting a dress for her 16th birthday party in May and that was something new for me, shopping for a girl's party dress!  I also enjoyed going out to the dinner with just the girls and having a good time with their Au Pair, Jeanine, from South Africa.  She is soon leaving to go back and I know they will really miss her.  She was so much  a part of the family. But man, she has tickets to the World Cup Final!!

A Gentle Heart

"When you teach your son, you teach your son's son."  The Talmud

Cole has such a loving, gentle heart.  He loves all the little ones and has so much patience with them.

Siblings

"Siblings are the people we practice on, the people who teach us about fairness and cooperation and kindness and caring - quite often the hard way." Pamela Dugdale

Backpacks

"A hundred hearts would be too few to carry all my love for you."

We bought these 2 backpacks for Christmas so they had a place to stash all their gear for the long ride to Middleburg.

Columbia

"One half of knowing what you want is knowing what you must give up before you get it."

Ty was awesome at Columbia University on Sunday.  He lost, but wrestled like the Ty we all know.  Going up a weight has really helped him in many ways. Tim, Jodi and their family were there along with some of their friends.  With Dan, Shelley, Carl and I, Ty had more fan support than the whole team put together. We are looking forward to the rest of the season.
