Help A Friend

"Friendship isn't a big thing, it's a million little things.
Robin, at Red Thread Stitches is adopting a little girl from China.  She is having a quilt raffle to help with the costs.  It is a beautiful, handmade quilt.  She is also doing embroidered beach towels, that are so cute. I bought one for myself and just love it.

Robin is the type of person that is always helping someone else, like the orphans in China or someone who is adopting from China.  Everything she sews is somehow  connected to helping someone else.  Hop on over to her site and see what she has to offer.  You can also see a picture of her beautiful daughter.  You will fall in love with her instantly.

New Water Table

"If men liked shopping, they'd call it research."

Nothing better to be doing on a hot day than playing with a water table.

Last Game On The Schedule

"Ah summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it."

Today was the last game on the soccer schedule for Cole.   It was so hot and I can't say that it was a very good game to watch.  That's the way it is with 10 yr. olds, some days they look great and others they don't.  They lost 2-0.  Cole played part of the second half in the goal and made a terrific save.  Everyone was complimenting him on the save.  After that, he was on the field again and made some beautiful crosses, but no one could capitalize on it.  Their keeper always seemed to be RIGHT there!

They play in the "Beach Blast" tournament at the end of the month.  It is sand soccer right on the beach.  Everyone has a great time and it's a mini vacation for the families.  It's so hot, but that makes the ocean feel even better.

Birthday Party

"Happiness pulses with every beat of my heart."

We celebrated Camryn's first birthday today.  Christopher, Carla and the kids will be at the beach when we have the BIG party, so we had a LITTLE party today so they could help celebrate.  Chloe was in charge of decorations and she really did a good job.  The front door, foyer, kitchen and deck were all decorated with balloons, monkeys and crepe paper.  Camryn was so excited when she saw everything.  She really liked the monkeys!

It might seem odd to some of you to have monkeys for a baby's first birthday, but if you knew Camryn, you wouldn't give it a second thought!   She is a little monkey, and a precious one at that.

First Birthday

"Granddaughters are like flowers, they fill the world with beauty."

Our precious Camryn May is one year old today.  She is so much fun and just a joy to be around.  We will be celebrating at our house on Saturday, with a monkey cake and all the trimmings!  Let's hope the pool water is warm so we can all take a dip.

Happy Birthday Sunshine!    Love you lots.

No More School!

"Summer Afternoon - summer affternoon;  to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language."

Today was the last day of school for the boys.  They were home by 12:15.  I brought them to our house for a dip in the pool and lunch on the deck.  They  had been playing ball, but hit the ball in our crabby neighbor's yard, and that is a BIG NO NO!  They decided it would be best to play in the front yard.
