A New Season

"If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself."

The soccer season opened today for Cole and his team.  What a hot day for a game that takes so much running!   They did a good job and I can see so much improvement from the spring.  They were passing the ball nicely and seemed to be putting alot of pressure on the other team.  Today, they were fun to watch.  Let's hope that it continues.

Chloe's First Soccer Practice

"The real menace in dealing with a 5 year old is that in no time at all, you begin to sound like a 5 year old."

This evening was Chloe's first soccer practice.  She has been waiting all summer for this! I think she seemed a little nervous and tried to perfect everything.  She plays alot harder in the backyard with her brothers than she did on the pitch tonight.  She listened very well and did everything the coach told her to do.  There are so many cute kids on her team and it will be fun to watch them when their games start.

When we got home, she wanted to take a shower.  She was sweaty and didn't want her hair to stink!

Four In One Day

"Once in a young lifetime one should be allowed to have as much sweetness as one can possibly want."

We celebrated 4 birthdays yesterday, all at one time!  It's so hard to get everyone together, so this was the best we could do.  Samuel is now 2, Gracie is 3, Chloe will be 5 (9/1) and my dad was 80.  Each one had their own cake/pie with candles.

Bella is Two

"Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see."

Last weekend my great-niece, Bella, celebrated her second birthday.  She was so excited and just loved her aligator cake.  For some reason, she is into aligators!

Rooney

"My little dog - a heartbeat at my feet."
The kids got a new dog and named him Rooney.  He is named after Manchester United's Wayne Rooney.  I must say that this dog is much better looking and behaves much better than the Rooney from England.  The boys are doing a good job of caring for him.

Mam's Glasses

"There is no snooze button on a cat (or kid) who wants breakfast."
These two get up alot earlier than what I am used to.  However, we were going to the zoo, so we needed an early start.  We had such a good time and they were wound up when we got home.  Trying on my glasses was only 1 of the silly things they were doing.

Mmm! Popsicle

"All I really need is love, but a popsicle now and then doesn't hurt."
They were at the Outer Banks last week and I really missed them.  Glad they are home.  School soon starts and I will be with her every day.

Bad Mood

"A perfect day to a little boy means, a scrape on the knee, mud on his face and collecting bugs in the garden.

In this picture he was having a little snit, but I ignored him and he soon got  over it.

She Said "NO"!

"If you cannot be a poet, be a poem."
Last week when I was spending time with my "Dumpling", we decided to take her baby for a walk. She was bossing me around by telling me which direction to walk, when to stop and turn around.  When we got to the playground, she wanted to go down the slide.  I asked her if I could hold her baby while she played.  She said "NO" and went on to play! Hmmm.

Dial 1-800-MOMMY

"I brought children into this world because it needed the light that only a child can bring."

Hi Mommy,  I know you and Daddy are busy at Messiah Soccer Camp, but I just wanted to warn you that it's going to be very hot today. Make sure you put on sunscreen and drink lots of water.  I don't want you to be too tired tonight when you get home.  I have plans for the 3 of us!

Handsome Baby!

"A wee bit of heaven drifted down from above, a handful of happiness, a heart full of love."

I spend a few days helping with the kids and the new baby.  They are so busy!  I could just squeeze the puddin' out of this little guy.  He is just gorgeous!

Let's Get Pop Wet!

"A laugh is a smile that bursts."

They ganged up on PopPop and tried to get him wet.  Somehow, he sensed what was coming and was ready for them.  They thought it was so funny!
