"You have to love a nation that celebrates it's independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism." Erma Bombeck
We celebrated today with Troy, Camryn (Sunshine) and my parents. It was a beautiful day, not too hot, just right. We also celebrated Carl's birthday, which is really tomorrow. When I brought out the cake, Camryn got so excited. She said, "I want some of that" and came running to the table. She helped PopPop blow out the candles first, then enjoyed the cheesecake topped with strawberries and blueberries.
After lunch it was time to hit the pool. She loved it. Soon it was naptime, we all had a snooze.
After a good nap, she was ready for the water table and the pool. She wasn't very happy when she had to get out of the pool and get dressed for dinner. But she is such a good little girl and obeyed her daddy.
What's the 4th of July without watermelon? It's messy but she loved it.
She really wanted to go swimming again after dinner, but daddy said no, it was time to start packing up. She decided that taking her baby for a walk might be fun. It was, but not as much fun as the pool! Next time, baby girl.
