Mothers Day

"A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie."

Happy Mothers Day!!

Friday Field Trip

"A suburban mother's role is to deliver children obstetrically once,  and by car forever after."

Friday was a beautiful day for a field trip.  It was a picnic to a local playground.  The kids had so much fun just running from one to another.  When we got home, the girls got in the pool.  The water was freezing, but they loved it!

Brrr!

"The sweetest sounds to mortals given are heard in Mother, Home and Heaven.

The girls have been dying to get into the pool.  They put their feet in every day.  Today, PopPop finally got it ready for swimming.  Chloe didn't have her bathing suit here, so she went in the water in her "birthday" suit.  She said it was a little cold, but will be ready to go back in tomorrow.

Treasure Box

"A box without hinges, key or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid."

We were having such a good time outside, when my "Dumpling" needed to go in for the potty.  She didn't want to go back outside, but her brother did.  I was trying to come up with a reason to get her outside again when I remembered the empty tissue box she had been playing with earlier.  We decided that we would go outside and hunt for "treasures."
They loved it.  We collected all kinds of treasures; stones, sticks, feathers, flowers- you name it and it was a treasure. They could hardly wait to show Mommy and Daddy their Treasure Box!

After all that treasure hunting, they needed a snack!

Driving Already?!!

"Today, give a stranger one of your smiles.  It might be the only sunshine he sees all day."

Camryn loves being outdoors.  Taking a walk to the park in her car is a great treat.  They take her there almost every day. Mommy was trying to get some work done, so we thought we'd help  by getting Camryn out of the house.  We'll take any excuse we get to spend time with her!

Someone Like You

"It was nice growing up with someone like you - someone to lean on, someone to count on . . . someone to tell on!"

They are so funny to watch.  I just follow along with my camera.

Sunburn Saturday

"The nice thing about teamwork is that you always have others on your side."

What a beautiful Saturday!  I don't think we are used to this kind of weather yet so it was almost unbearable at Carter's soccer game yesterday.  Poor guy was so red in the face from all that running.  The second half he was in the net, so I'm sure that keeper jersey made him very uncomfortable.  The girls and I headed for the shade, the little that we could find!  After half time, the heat got to me.  I went home for a cold drink and watched soccer on the TV.  Bad Mam, I know, but there will be lots of other games.
